Data collection with terrestrial mobile mapper. LiDAR survey and panoramic photos of entire road right-of-way at all phases of road construction:
- ¤excavation
- ¤subgrade
- ¤base gravel
- ¤fine gravel
- ¤base asphalt
- ¤second lift asphalt
All road elements on GIS layers, such as:
- ¤streetlights
- ¤pavement markings
- ¤concrete curbs / barriers
- ¤fencing
¤Post-construction surface shows the extent of changes to the right-of-way since flood damage.
¤Combined with inspection reports, City has a detailed record of the project from start to finish.
Deliverables
¤ArcGIS shapefiles for roadside assets
¤AutoCAD drawings - contour plans, roadway plans and profiles, roadway cross-sections, cut / fill volumes.
¤Report summarizing methodology, results and recommendations for further use.
Value-Add
¤Employing mobile mapping during the project ensured data was obtained without interruption / delay to the contractor.
¤Corrections to ‘legacy’ data in existing database:
¤Two streetlights did not exist
¤Two streetlights out of position by approximately 15m and 30m
¤Significant corrections to the streetlight record representing approximately 20% of the asset class in the project limit.
